2008 Annual General Meeting

The 2008 Annual General Meeting will be held on the evening of November 5th from 7 PM to 8:30 PM. Our legal counsel will be present at the meeting to inform everyone of our current position and what we can expect in future.

We will also be electing the executive committee for the coming year. The list of candidates who have agreed to let their names stand for election appears below.

Branch 66 is located on Spring Garden Ave., two blocks north of Shepherd off Yonge St. At Spring Garden Ave. turn right (east). The Legion is the first building east of Yonge on the north side. For those who are driving there is some parking behind the building. The driveway to the back is on the west side of the Legion. HOWEVER, the few parking spots on the driveway's left side belong to the corner real estate office. There is also parking available in nearby parking lots. Note that street metered parking will probably have a 2 hour limit.

Following the meeting there will be an opportunity to socialize with old and new friends. We look forward to seeing many of our members on November 5th and hope you will attend.

Waiving of fees

The executive committee has once again agreed to forgo the $25 annual fee for all voting members for the upcoming year (2008/2009).

At the 2007 General Meeting, David Kidd, Brian Lynch and Jim Martin were elected to a two year term to the executive committee. This year the following are standing for re-election for a two year term:

Please note that a voting member may nominate any voting member for a position on the executive. This is subject to confirmation of acceptance by the nominated voting member. In addition another voting member must second the nomination.

Proxy forms will be sent out via e-mail to voting members. If you are a voting member and do not receive the e-mail you should contact clpens@rogers.com to receive your copy. If you are unable to attend and wish to assign your proxy to a member of the executive committee or someone other than a member of the executive committee you may do so by following the procedures outlined in the e-mail.
